RE: Al's Motorhomes in Ft. Pierce FL closes

Has anyone noticed that there is not a single criticism about Al's in any of these comments. They are/were nice people to deal with. Hope they make it back.

RE: Al's Motorhomes in Ft. Pierce FL closes

I was talking to the parts manager just before they closed and he said that he would be glad when things there settled down and he could get more RV accessories in there. Maybe they plan to reopen as an accessories and repair place until the industry recovers. They did just build a 4 bay enclosed drive through service building and then could not get to it for all the MHs parked around it. They have plenty of room now. They did do a large repair business with all the winter visitors. I drive by there twice a day and right now nothing is happening.

RE: KOA Valdosta

I'm not a big fan of KOA. When we are down in that part of Georgia, we stay at Eagles Roost RV Resort. https://www.eaglesroostresort.com/images/bg_l0xn.jpg It is located exactly on the opposite side of I75 from the KOA being mentioned here. It nice, clean, well maintained (men's shower don't flood) and nice folks too.Ditto on Eagles Roost. It is a very nice quite campground with WiFi in the office area and shopping around the corner. Its own gift shop is intriguing also.

RE: Curtain Replacement

Mine were only attached by two screws into the ceiling. Removing and restringing was easy. Relocating those screw holes was the PITA.

RE: Curtain Replacement

MCD RV Innovations has very nice double (one day, one night) pull down shades. Do a search for installers in your area.

RE: Gen-turi installation

I have a question about that, I have a georgetown and the exhaust from the genni is right under my left slide so how can I install it if the slide is out? Using parts from Buy Gen-turi you can reroute your generator exhaust to anywhere it would be more convient to attach too.

RE: Campgrounds where we can take our GOLF CART

It is difficult to believe but the word is out that Florida State Parks now allow carts.

RE: best rv park on the beach in florida??

Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach may not have pavement but it is right on the beach. (East coast just south of St. Augustine.) http://www.floridastateparks.org/gamblerogers/images/GRM-beachcampsite3-parkjc.JPG height=450 width=600

RE: Gen-turi installation

Mine came out just a couple of inches under a front compartment so I cut off the end of the exhaust pipe and added an 8 inch 30 degree angle piece available from Buy Gen-turi for $3.81. It moved the stack over just enough to install vertically and still allow the compartment to open. You will also need a clamp for $7.20.

RE: Hillsborough River SP - Florida in mid November

I have never been able to find a vacant site there on a 3-day weekend.

RE: Savannah GA campground recommendations? any?

If you are looking for a close in, convenient, cheap, with full connections but not fancy (grass parking) then try Flynn's Inn Camping Village. Oops. Wrong city. This is at Augusta.

RE: For the men & ladies… Men wearing kilts?

A work kilt might solve the age old problem of "plumber's butt". :)

RE: "Amateur" vs/ "Professional" RV'ers

I have learned to NEVER volunteer advice. Tell someone a known fact and they will often tell you are wrong just because they don't like the information. They don't want to hear anything that might inconvience them and the world works the way they decide to should. Now if someone ask a question then that is another matter, sometimes.

RE: Leopard savages Crocodile- Amazing pix

It must have been one really hungry leopard! There are wilderbeast in the back ground, it's strange that he went after the croc. Maybe the leopard was injured and could not run a wilderbeast down.

RE: Where can we go?

Garmin Nuvi 5000 for truckers and RV'ers - gives routes based upon weight limits and low clearances. Should get mine in two days just in time for my trip. Costco for $499.Doc, How is that new Garmin working out for you?

RE: golf cart plus toad??

If you can settle for a smaller cart the Cricket works well for me and can be carried on a Tilt-A-Rack behind my MH or Jeep and will even fit inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
